The Marquis

After watching the play “Hamilton” I realized that I knew very little about The Marquis de Lafayette and saught to remedy this. I blasted out this tweet asking for recommendations on what book I should listen to, and thankfully someone recommended this book by Laura Auricchio. It was an absolute delight to read. My favorite thing about the book is that I could tell Laura was working hard not to embellish anything that happened. She references her source material throughout the book, yet her writing style reads more like a story than a research paper. I asked Laura if she would join us on the No Dumb Questions podcast and talk to us a bit about Lafayette and I must say she was an absolute delight to have as a guest. I highly recommend this book. (For some reason I found it to be a wonderful companion for training for a half marathon.)
