My sons and I would listen to this book every time we hopped in the car for about 2 months. Mark Kurlansky explores the sauces of ancient Rome, the North Atlantic fish trade, and the geographic realities behind some of the most popular cheeses in the world. The fact that the Civil War was heavily influenced by the location of salt deposits was lost on me. This is a FANTASTIC book that I highly recommend to anyone who consumes salt on a daily basis (everyone).
