Just mercy

After reading “The Sun Does Shine” I wanted to learn more about Bryan Stevenson, Anthony Ray Hinton’s lawyer. This book details the efforts of Bryan Stevenson, a modern day Atticus Finch and his efforts to represent those who society has condemned. He provides these individuals with the benefit of the doubt, and in many cases reveals the awful truth about the failures of our justice system. Because the death penalty is wielded by a flawed system, Bryan makes a compelling argument for discontinuing its use in America. After reading this book and understanding the reality of what it’s like to fall on the wrong side of the law imperfectly enforced…. I agree with him.
